The number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 in the atolls has surpassed 100,000.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) revealed 2,444 people were inoculated on March 25. HPA revealed 1,392 people of the 2,444 people were from the Greater Male' Region and 1,052 people were from the atolls. A total of 227,423 people have been vaccinated in the Maldives since the beginning of the COVID-19 vaccination programme on February 1, including 127,277 people in the Greater Male' Region and 100,146 people in the atolls.
Maldives is currently utilising Covishield and Sinopharm vaccine for the inoculation of the first dose. The vaccination programme is conducted at 8 centres and by 2 mobile vaccination teams in the Greater Male' Region in addition to 169 vaccination centres across the atolls.
