President inquires on the situation of Addu and Fuvahmulah following heavy rain and flooding

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inquired on the situation of Addu City and Fuvahmulah City following the storm and ensuing flooding in both cities.

In separate telephone calls to Mayor of Addu City Abdulla Sodiq and Mayor of Fuvahmulah City Abdulla Falah, President Solih asked about the severity of the storm and damages caused due to the torrential rains, high winds and ensuing flooding. During his calls, the President inquired about the current state of affairs and deliberated with them to alleviate the difficulties faced by the residents. He further assured the government is working to resolve the challenges in the face of continued severe weather.

People of the two cities are left devastated in the wake of incessant downpours, which left many parts of the cities inundated.
