MTCC launches coastal protection projects in two islands

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has launched projects to establish coastal protection structures in Hoarafushi, Haa Alifu Atoll and Henbadhoo in Noonu Atoll.

MTCC was contracted to establish coastal protection in Henbadhoo on December 28, 2020. The project involves construction of 235-metre revetment and a 25-metre groyne along the areas affected by erosion. The project must be completed within three months, at a cost of USD 323,000.

MTCC was contracted to provide coastal protection structures in Hoarafushi on January 20, 2021. The project must be completed within 70 days, at a cost of USD 413,000.

MTCC is currently working on 50 projects across the country.
