WAMCO releases waste collection schedule for Ramadan

Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has publicised its new waste collection schedule for households during the month of Ramadan.

WAMCO workers will be collecting waste from households in Male', Villimale', and Hulhumale' every evening from 2200hrs to 2300hrs. Waste collection in the Addu City districts will be conducted from 0700hrs to 1100hrs. However, waste collection in Addu City’s Hulhumeedhoo will be conducted from 0900hrs to 1600hrs. Waste collection in Fuvahmulah City will be conducted from 0800hrs to 1400hrs.

From Saturday to Thursday, waste transfer stations in Male' will be operational from 1000hrs to 1700hrs and from 2000hrs to 0300hrs. On Friday, these stations will be operational from 1400hrs to 1700hrs and from 2000hrs to 0300hrs.

From Saturday to Thursday, waste transfer stations in Hulhumale' will be operational from 1000hrs to 1700hrs and from 2000hrs to 0100hrs. On Friday, these stations will be operational from 1400hrs to 1700hrs and from 2000hrs to 0200hrs.

Also from Saturday to Thursday, waste transfer stations in Villimale' will be operational from 1000hrs to 1700hrs and from 2000hrs to 0200hrs. On Friday, these stations will be operational from 1400hrs to 1700hrs and from 2000hrs to 0200hrs.

From Saturday to Thursday, waste disposal in Thilafushi will be operational from 0930hrs to 1545hrs, and from 2100hrs to 0030hrs. Waste disposal operation on Friday will be conducted from 1400hrs to 1700hrs and from 2100hrs to 0030hrs.

During the month of Ramadan, WAMCO will be providing all its services at official hours and call centres will be operational during waste collection times. WAMCO advised all households to separate the different types of waste and securely close the bags before taking them out.
