Health Protection Agency (HPA) has placed Maalhos, Baa Atoll under monitoring after the detection of active COVID-19 cases.
HPA has now restricted movement in and out of the island, as two tourists tested positive for COVID-19. The two tourists were found positive from the samples collected concluding their stay before departure. It is known that they had spent a week in the island.
This is the second time tourists in Baa atoll have tested positive. Initially, although a tourist from Fulhadhoo tested positive, no other cases were detected.
HPA revealed contact tracing is currently ongoing.
