A’Level examinations begin in the Maldives

Edexcel A’Level examinations have commenced in the Maldives, with more than 2,800 students across the country.

The Edexcel A’Level examinations, which were originally scheduled for May/June, were moved ahead to April/May by Edexcel. Ministry of Education stated Edexcel made changes to its A2 and AS exam schedule without consulting the ministry or the Department of Public Examination, adding the ministry was unable to negotiate with Edexcel to revert to the previous schedule.

The education ministry revealed a total of 2,821 students are taking part in the examinations, including 1,890 students from Male’ City and 931 students from the atolls. The exams are being conducted in 44 examination centres, including 6 centres in Male’ and 38 centres in the atolls. The exams will be conducted from April 26 until May 14.
