Health Protection Agency (HPA) has extended the curfew timings imposed in Addu City and Fuvahmulah City.
HPA said the new curfew timings will be effective from May 13. As per the new amendments to initially imposed measures, a curfew will be imposed in Addu and Fuvahmulah from 1800hrs to 0400hrs. In addition, travelling from one district to another in Addu and Fuvahmulah is prohibited.
Moreover, HPA has imposed a curfew in Thinadhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll and Nilandhoo, Faafu Atoll to contain further spread of COVID-19 in these islands. HPA stated a curfew will be imposed in both islands from 2100hrs to 0400hrs. It is prohibited to visit households during the curfew hours, and restaurants must be closed for dine-in although delivery services are allowed.
HPA has been strengthening the measures imposed across the country to curb the spread of COVID-19 over the escalating situation of community spread.
