MTCC begins construction of bridge connected to Fehendhoo harbour

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has begun the construction of walkway bridge as part of the harbour development project in Fehendhoo, Baa Atoll.

MTCC said the installation of the revetment will commence once the construction of the beam is completed. 85% percent of the harbour development project in Fehendhoo has been completed so far, said MTCC.

As part of the project, MTCC will conduct the construction of the harbour consisting of 43,500cbm of dredging and excavation along with the construction of a 130-metre long breakwater, 282-metres of revetment, a 214-metre quay wall, and a concrete walkway bridge. MTCC will also complete the construction of a ramp, interlocking pavements, and installment of mooring blocks, navigational masts, and harbour lights.

The state-owned company aims to complete the first-ever environment-friendly bridge constructed in the Maldives this year.
