Health Protection Agency (HPA) has allowed customers to shop inside stores until 1800hrs.
The change is part of HPA's decision to ease restrictions in the coming weeks due to the decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives. As part of the changes, HPA has also extended the operating hours of stores for an additional two hours, from 0800hrs to 1800hrs, and allow delivery services from 0600hrs to 1200hrs. Restaurants, cafés, and hotels are allowed to provide takeaway services, but will only be allowed to provide delivery services from 1800hrs to 0000hrs.
Furthermore, HPA has allowed gyms to be open from 0500hrs to 1800hrs and eased the curfew in the Greater Male' Region from 1800hrs to 0400hrs. In addition, travel between islands not under monitoring has also been allowed.
Due to the decreasing number of positive COVID-19 cases in the country, HPA stated it will be easing restrictions in the coming weeks to solve the difficulties faced by businesses and the public.
