Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed individuals who received the first dose of the Covishield vaccine during April can now get their second dose. Individuals who got the first dose in April can now make appointments via book.hpa.gov.mv for the second dose, stated HPA.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) has allocated a special web address for online registration for the second dose of the Covishield vaccine in an effort to ease the process. The second dose is rolled out prioritising people who received the first dose earlier during the vaccination drive.
HPA said an identification card and a mobile number are required when booking an appointment. Individuals are required to select the preferred vaccination centre, appointment date, and time and HPA notifies the appointment confirmation via message. HPA has advised all individuals to be present at the vaccination centre 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment with the vaccine card and an identification card.
Further, HPA stated the booking will be cancelled if the scheduled appointment is missed and the individual will have to book a new appointment for a different date. Further assistance with booking appointments will be provided from 1676. noted HPA.
The second dose of the Covishield vaccines will be administered at the Social Centre, Islamic Centre, National Art Gallery, and Hulhumale' Vaccination Centre. Maldives began its COVID-19 vaccination programme on February 1 with the first 100,000 doses of the Covishield vaccine donated by the Government of India.
