Fehendhoo School to be developed as a satellite school

Ministry of Education has signed a contract with KD Enterprises Private Limited to develop the school in Fehendhoo, Baa Atoll as a satellite school.

The contract was signed at a special ceremony held at the education ministry on July 15. The contract was signed by State Minister of Educatiuon Ahmed Riyaz and Tender Officer at KD Enterprises Abdulla Mahir.

The scope of the contract, worth USD 83,280, includes the construction of two classrooms and upgrading the administrative building of the school for the development of the satellite school. The duration of the project is 30 days.

Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali had earlier announced the decision to establish satellite schools in inhabited islands which do not have a school at the start of the upcoming academic year. The minister stated all islands with satellite schools would have a building where students can attend classes, with teachers to be allocated for each grade. The minister revealed extra-curricular activities will be carried out in coordination with other schools.
