Road Development Corporation (RDC) has commenced the refurbishment of roads in North Henveiru area of Male’ City, under the Male’ Streetscaping Project.
Refurbishment of North Henveiru roads was formally commenced by Male’ City Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during a ceremony held on August 17. The ceremony was attended by senior officials of Male’ City Council and RDC.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Muizzu noted the Male’ Streetscaping Project, which aims to repair and renovate all roads of Male’, will ensure the roads can be used without difficulties for pedestrians and vehicles. The mayor noted a request has been submitted to the government to pave all roads of the city with asphalt, as part of the project. He added the project will be beneficial for all residents of Male’ City.
RDC was contracted to refurbish 13 roads in North Henveiru under the Male’ Streetscaping Project, on April 6. The roads to be refurbished spans 1.97 kilometres, costing approximately USD 4.5 million.
