Ministry of Education has signed an agreement with Kuwait-based Al-Jeri Holding Group to establish a model international school in Hulhumale'. The agreement was signed by Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali and Chairman of Al-Jeri Holding Talal Khalifa Al-Jeri.
As part of the agreement, Al-Jeri Holding is tasked with developing and managing a model international school in Hulhumale'. The company is tasked with developing the school with a capacity of 1,200 students in the first phase of Hulhumale'.
The English-medium school will be operated from Foundation Stage to Grade 12 and will also teach the Arabic language. The education ministry stated Al-Jeri Holding will complete the first phase of the development of the school for the next academic year and the second phase of the development will be completed by the start of the academic year in 2023. It is currently seeking a Maldivian company for the construction of the school, stated the ministry.
Talal Khalifa Al-Jeri is a world-renowned businessperson who has led Al-Jeri Holdings Group to become a leading education company that currently manages 20 international schools in Kuwait.
