Health Protection Agency (HPA) revises the travel guidelines, allowing individuals who are ineligible for the COVID-19 vaccine to travel without quarantine to certain islands.
The new guideline states an exemption is provided to individuals who cannot receive the vaccine due to a valid reason. This includes individuals who have received a document stating they cannot be vaccinated, and children who do not fulfill the age requirement for vaccination.
HPA stated such individuals can travel without quarantine to islands where 90% of the population above the age of 12, including 90% of the population above the age of 65, have completed vaccination. If there are active guesthouses in the island, 95% of all guesthouse workers must also have completed vaccination.
HPA stated islands are considered to have fulfilled the requirements for travel without quarantine if 14 days have passed since the vaccination was completed as required. The agency said individuals who are ineligible for vaccination must submit a PCR test valid for 72 hours when travelling to all other islands.
