Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the harbour dredging component under the harbour development project in Himmafushi, Kaafu Atoll.
The project to upgrade Himmafushi harbour was contracted to MTCC in December 2019. MTCC revealed the dredging component of the project has now been completed. The state-owned company revealed pavement construction is currently ongoing.
The scope of the project includes construction of a 38-metre rock boulder breakwater and a 172 metre rock boulder revetment. The project also involves construction of 10 mooring blocks, a ramp, 4 navigational lights and 11 harbour lights. The total cost of the project is USD 1.6 million.
