Maldives Immigration has revealed close to 114,900 tourists arrived in the Maldives in September 2021.
The statistics showed 114,896 tourists arrived in September, which is a 19% decrease compared to the 143,599 arrivals recorded in August. As shown in the statistics, 92,103 tourist arrivals were recorded in January while 96,882 arrivals were recorded in February and 109,585 arrivals were recorded in March.
Additionally, a total of 91,200 tourists visited the Maldives in April, 64,613 tourists visited in May, 56,166 visited in June, 101,818 in July, and 143,599 in August. With these figures, the total number of tourist arrivals in the Maldives so far this year is currently at 870,862.
According to the statistics, the daily number of tourist arrivals this month peaked at 4,862 visits on September 12. Meanwhile, most tourist arrivals were recorded from India, with 43,161 total arrivals and the second-highest number of tourists came from Russia with 11,435 arrivals.
