Fenaka provides generator sets to three islands in Baa Atoll

Fenaka Corporation Limited has stated it has provided generator sets to three islands in Baa Atoll.

The state-owned utility company stated it provided the generator sets to Maalhos, Hithaadhoo, and Fulhadhoo to provide a long-term solution to the lack of stable power experienced in the islands.

Fenaka stated Maalhos and Fulhadhoo are notable for their local tourism industry and the generator sets are expected to solve the electrical issues faced by businesses. As such, Maalhos and Hithaadhoo received 400-kilowatt generator sets. Hithadhoo previously received a 400-kilowatt generator in October 2020 and currently uses generators with 400, 160, and 128-kilowatt capacities. Fenaka stated Hithaadhoo's new generator set will be installed at the new powerhouse established by the government, as the current powerhouse is showing signs of degradation.

Meanwhile, Fulhadhoo received a 250-kilowatt generator set to solve the issue of current generators not being able to meet the power demands on the island.

The state-owned company added the installation of the new generator sets will be undertaken by the Fenaka branches in the islands.
