Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the asphalt paving component of the project to develop major roads in Ungoofaaru, Raa Atoll.
MTCC revealed 87% of the overall project has now been completed, including 100% of all asphalt paving works. The state owned company said ongoing works include installation of pump stations, speed-breakers and road signs.
Under the project, 14 roads of Ungoofaaru have been paved with an asphalt layer on top of an Aggregate Base Course (ABC) layer. MTCC stated the ABC layer will help to prolong the life of the pavement.
The road development project in Ungoofaaru was contracted to MTCC in 2019. The project costs over USD 1.8 million.
