Male’ City Council has decided to issue 600 parking slots from the new parking zone developed in Alimas Carnival in Male’.
Speaking to the press regarding the city council’s ongoing works, Male’ City Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said 600 vehicles can be parked in the new parking zone in Alimas Carnival, including 500 motorcycles and 100 four-wheeled vehicles. The mayor said 50 of the 100 slots for four-wheelers will be issued to taxis. He said the slots will be issued at a monthly rate of USD 100.
Mayor Muizzu revealed parking slots will also be issued from the area in front of the Alimas Carnival stage. However, the mayor said these slots will be issued under the condition that the vehicles must be removed for events at the stage.
As part of efforts to resolve the parking difficulties faced in Male’, the city council is undertaking the development of additional parking zones in the city. As such, several vacant plots of land are being turned to parking zones.
