MWSC begins fieldwork of water and sewerage project in Feridhoo

Male' Water and Sewerage Company Limited (MWSC) has officially commenced fieldwork for the water and sewerage project in Feridhoo, Alifu Alifu Atoll.

Fieldwork for the project was officially inaugurated on December 11 by Managing Director of MWSC Hassan Shah, Parliamentarian for Mathiveri constituency Hassan Zareer and President of Feridhoo Island Council Ismail Shah.

MWSC will develop a 6.77km long water supply network, along with two reverse osmosis (RO) plants, three storage tanks and household connections to the main network. MWSC has already completed 35% of the RO facility building to be developed under the project.

In addition, MWSC is also set to develop a 5.5km sewerage network in the island, along with a 1.7km pumping line, three pumping stations and one sea outfall. The project also includes installing household connections to the main sewerage network and placing junctions.

The water and sewerage project in Feridhoo is carried out at a cost of USD 4.5 million.
