HPA reports increase in cases of diarrhea and vomiting in the Maldives

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported an increase in cases of diarrhea and vomiting in the Maldives.

In a tweet posted on January 2, 2022, HPA revealed there has been an increase in people having diarrhea and vomiting recently. The agency urged the public to consult a doctor if showing symptoms such as giddiness, severe thirst, lethargy, low urine output, frequent vomiting, blood in vomit or stool and severe abdominal pain.

HPA also advised those suffering from diarrhea and vomiting to frequently take in Oral Rehydration Salt (ORS) and liquids such as water and soup. HPA also advised to pay extra attention to personal hygiene and avoid large gatherings.
