Kihaadhoo TVEC Centre resumes courses

The Technical and Vocational Education Centre (TVAC) in Kihaadhoo, Baa Atoll has prepared to open its courses after the interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic. TVEC said the opportunity to apply for three courses scheduled to begin in March has now been opened.

The centre conducts courses from three areas which are electrician, petrol and diesel engine mechanics and airconditioning and refrigeration courses. TVEC said students who wish to take part in the three courses are required to submit their documents before March 5. The centre in Kihaadhoo provides free training for the workplace and conducts courses for six months without a bond. Students studying at the centre are not required to pay for their course fees and food.

Established in 2016, by the Coastline Foundation, to train youth in the field of work, the facility in Kihaadhoo is the largest vocational training centre run by a private party in the Maldives. The centre has trained more than 150 students for the job market so far.
