MTCC to upgrade Kamadhoo harbour

Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) to upgrade the harbour of Kamadhoo, Baa Atoll.

The contract for the project was signed at a special ceremony held on January 20. The contract was signed by Director General at the planning ministry Fathimath Shaana Farooq and CEO of MTCC Adam Azim.

Under the project, MTCC will carry out dredging of 25,404 cubic metres for the harbour basin, and construct a 180m breakwater. The project also involves construction of an 826m revetment, 346m quay wall, 11m ramp, 1,730 sqm pavement, 70 mooring rings and 17 harbour lights.

The harbour upgrade of Kamadhoo was contracted to MTCC at a price of USD 3 million. The duration allocated for the project is 400 days.
