New mosques to be developed in Maradhoo and Hirimaradhoo

Ministry of Islamic Affairs has awarded contracts to develop new mosques in Maradhoo, Addu City and Hirimaradhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll.

The project to develop a mosque to accommodate 500 worshippers in Maradhoo was contracted to BAPC and Trading Private Limited. The project was contracted at a price of USD 822,000, to be completed within 11 months.

The project to develop a mosque to accommodate 300 worshippers in Hirimaradhoo was contracted to Wavelength Private Limited. The project was contracted at a price of USD 563,000, to be completed within 12 months.

Both mosques are being developed in accordance to a design prepared in 2021. The two mosques will be built with air-conditioning systems powered by solar energy.
