Policies directed towards living with COVID-19: HPA

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has stated its policies are currently directed towards learning to live with COVID-19.

Speaking at a press conference, Epidemiologist at HPA Dr. Ibrahim Afzal said implementing strict containment measures are not part of HPA’s current policies, as the plan is to learn how to live with COVID-19. However, Dr. Afzal said this does not rule out further measures to counter the spread of COVID-19, noting lockdowns may also need to be imposed based on the severity of the situation.
