Police post established in Goidhoo

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has established a police post in Goidhoo, Baa Atoll.

The police post in Goidhoo was inaugurated on December 7. With the establishment of this police post, MPS has now established stations, desks or posts in 108 islands across the Maldives.

Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the police post in Goidhoo, Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla said establishment of police services in all inhabited islands of the country is a key priority of the administration. The minister noted President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had specifically requested the establishment of a police post in Goidhoo, as local tourism is expanding in the island, increasing the need to safeguard residents and tourists in the island. He noted economic and social progress cannot be achieved without peace, harmony and stability.

During the ceremony, a special plaque was presented to MPS to acknowledge the establishment of its services in Goidhoo. The ceremony was attended by senior officials of MPS and government institutions in Goidhoo.
