Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed the road development project in Hanimaadhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll will be completed this month.
The road development project in Hanimaadhoo was contracted to MTCC in 2019. However, the project was initially launched in 2013 and had been carried out by different contractors before it was awarded to MTCC. The project had very little progress when MTCC was awarded the project in June 2019.
CEO of MTCC Adam Azim revealed the Hanimaadhoo road development project is finally reaching a conclusion, noting the asphalt paving component has already been completed. He said only landscaping works remain, adding the project is expected to be completed within this month.
Under the project, MTCC has redeveloped 20 roads of Hanimaadhoo with asphalt paving and a stormwater management system. The project also involves installation of cable junction boxes and road signage. The project is worth USD 4.6 million.
