India donates medical equipment to Senahiya

The Government of India has donated 2800kg of medical equipment to the Senahiya Military Hospital in Male’.

The equipment were officially handed over during the ongoing visit of the Defence Secretary of India Dr. Ajay Kumar to the Maldives. The items were received by Minister of Defence of the Maldives Mariya Ahmed Didi.

Following the donation of the medical equipment, Defence Minister Mariya thanked the Indian government for the generous donation. She also highlighted the positive defence talks held with the Indian defence secretary and expressed gratitude for the continued assistance of India in strengthening the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and achieve the common goal of maintaining peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region.

The ceremony held to hand over the medical equipment was attended by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel, Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal, Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef and senior officers of MNDF and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
