Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has stated the development of roads near the Hiya flats in Hulhumale’ Phase II have now been completed and opened to the public.
HDC stated the development of roads near Hiya flats with asphalt paving, curb stones and utility services have been completed and opened on March 4. HDC stated the next target is to establish essential services in the Hiya neighbourhood by the end of this month.
The roads near Hiya flats were developed by a joint venture between two Indian companies. HDC had initially targeted to complete the roads by last November. However, citing the Indian joint venture contractor, HDC said the project underwent delays due to safety precautions imposed following the outbreak of COVID-19.
Recipients of Hiya flats in Hulhumale’ Phase II began moving in to their flats in August last year. HDC is working on establishing essential services such as schools, shops, food outlets and mosques in Hulhumale’ Phase II.
