Higher education institutes have begun implementing a new policy for student enrollment and teaching.
The new policy, published by Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA), includes rules and regulations for enrolling and teaching students in courses conducted by higher education institutes. The policy designates the permitted workload and semester intakes as well as rules for the modules that are included in lectures.
The higher education institutes that violate the new policy will be penalised by the MQA and will be given a deadline to correct their mistakes or have their permits revoked. The policy also requires the institutes to submit details on their schedules for the academic year within three months.
