STO conducts first fuel test in newly established laboratory

State Trading Organisation (STO) has conducted the first fuel test in its newly established fuel testing laboratory.

STO opened its fuel testing laboratory on March 1 at the STO Trading Centre in Male’. The first sample tested in the laboratory was a jet fuel sample sent by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

The fuel testing laboratory is operated by Geo-Chem Middle East, a prominent company in product testing. STO said the laboratory will facilitate immediate testing of imported fuel, and save time spent on testing fuel samples from abroad. STO said this would be especially beneficial in re-testing jet fuel shipments brought from abroad.

STO’s fuel testing laboratory is operated with the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation. This makes the laboratory an internationally recognised fuel testing laboratory.
