Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has stated the Maldivian communities are the beneficiaries of the numerous projects being conducted under Indian grant assistance. He made the remarks while speaking at a joint statement with the Indian Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar.

In the joint statement after bilateral talks with his Indian counterpart in Addu City, Minister Shahid said the inauguration of the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement is one such high-priority project executed under Indian grant assistance and expressed confidence it will enhance the readiness of the Maldives Police Service (MPS). The minister also highlighted the project funded by the line of credit from EXIM Bank of India to establish 61 police stations across the Maldives.
