MPL begins digitalisation of services

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has commenced a campaign to digitalise its services.

The digitalisation campaign was officially launched during a special ceremony held at Crossroads Maldives on March 30. The campaign was officially launched by Minister of Higher Education Dr. Ibrahim Hassan.

MPL stated that the digitalisation campaign aims to provide more efficient services to the public. As part of the campaign, MPL has added a customer portal to its ports portal, to enable customers to access all important information on port services in one place. The portal includes details of ships currently docked in the port and estimated arrival times as well as container discharge details and monthly statistics of ports.

MPL stated that the digitalisation of its services would reduce cargo clearance time from 6 hours to just 15 minutes. MPL added that it aims to reduce its dependence on paper by 99% by the end of this year.
