Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced Channel and Harbor Dredging Project in Baarah, Haa Alifu Atoll.
Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure handed over the project to MTCC in April last year to be completed for a cost of USD787,398.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Adam Azim said MTCC conducts the projects as just as the public wants and the projects are conducted under the direction of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Moreover, speaking at the ceremony, Parliamentarian Mohamed Abdulla said MTCC prioritises conducting the projects as sought by the public and completes the project within the time frame.
The scope of the project includes channel dredging operations of 79,100cbm, existing basin maintenance dredging of 8,600cbm, and supply and installation of navigational aids.
