Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Drug Agency (NDA) to facilitate job and apprenticeship opportunities for clients ready for community reintegration.
The agreement was signed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTCC Adam Azim and CEO of NDA, Deputy Minister of Health, Mariyam Khalid, with Minister of Health Ahmed Naseem in attendance.
MTCC agreed to conduct the apprenticeship programme as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. The state-owned company will choose participants for the programme from a list of names provided by the NDA. During the programme, monthly reports will be sent to NDA with evaluations of the behaviour and work ethic of the participants.
MTCC stated the three-year programme aims to allow participants to become productive members of society and noted that the company has initiated numerous similar programmes as part of its corporate social responsibility.
