AgroNat releases 43 tonnes of watermelon to the market during Ramadan

Agro National Corporation (AgroNat) has revealed 43 tonnes of watermelon have been released to the market during this Ramadan.

Speaking to PSM News, CEO of AgroNat Haroon Rasheed said the company undertook special preparations ahead of this Ramadan, as this is the first Ramadan without COVID-19 restrictions since the establishment of the company. Haroon revealed AgroNat is currently marketing and selling watermelons produced by 43 farmers. He said the company expects to release up to 120 tonnes of watermelons to the market during this Ramadan, of which 43 tonnes have already been released.

Prices of items, especially vegetables and fruits, usually increase during Ramadan every year due to the increased demand. In efforts to maintain the prices, the government's agricultural company, AgroNat, has stepped up efforts to make more items available in the market.
