WAMCO seeks 50 cleaning staff to join Hulhumale team

Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has announced the recruitment of 50 employees following the contract signed with Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to clean Hulhumale'.

The contract was signed by the Managing Director of HDC Suhail Ahmed and Deputy Managing Director of WAMCO Yoosuf Siraj. HDC revealed the agreement was signed with WAMCO to clean Hulhumale' for a period of three years and WAMCO employees will begin cleaning the roads of Hulhumale' in May.

Previously, WAMCO was contracted to clean the streets of Male' and Villimale'. HDC handed over the cleaning of Hulhumale' to WAMCO to clean the roads in a sustainable manner under a separate system.

Under the agreement, WAMCO will clean all roads, payments, parks, and beaches. As such, WAMCO will collect plastic bottles, cans, paper bags, papers, leafy waste, packaging, and other such items and sweep and clean the streets. WAMCO has instructed not to dump household waste to dustbins placed on the streets.

In addition, WAMCO has announced the recruitment of 50 employees to join their team in Hulhumale'. These cleaning staff will receive a salary of USD 517. Applicants are required to submit their forms to WAMCO before 1200 hours on May 9. WAMCO said the forms of the first 100 applicants will be accepted.

Meanwhile, WAMCO has advised households to register for waste collection in Hulhumale' as soon as possible since unregistered households will not receive WAMCO waste collection services. WAMCO has also advised cafes, hotels, and other businesses not to dump waste on the streets.
