Individuals getting COVID-19 vaccine decreases

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed the number of people getting the COVID-19 vaccine in the Maldives has been declining day by day.

Health authorities have advised completing the vaccine doses despite the COVID-19 situation improving in the country. The number of people receiving the COVID-19 vaccines daily was above 2,000 when the booster dose of the vaccine was open to the public. However, 442 people received the booster dose last week. As per statistics, 35.12% of the population has completed the booster dose so far which is 159,008 individuals.

Moreover, a total of 55 people completed two doses of the vaccine last week. A total of 383,980 people have been administered two doses, which is 84.80% of the population eligible to receive the vaccine. A total of 18 people received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The total number of people who received the first dose is now 398,597 which is 88.03% of the population eligible to receive the vaccine.
