Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali has departed to Turkey to discuss on ways to collaborate efforts to strengthen religious awareness in the Maldives.
Islamic Minister Zahir is scheduled to be in Turkey until May 30. During this visit, he will meet with the President of the Directorate of Religious Affairs of Turkey, Prof Dr. Ali Erbas to discuss on ways to work together to enhance religious awareness in the Maldives. Furthermore, discussions are also to be held on strengthening bilateral ties between Turkey and the Maldives.
The Islamic minister is accompanied on this trip by Deputy Minister Shafiu Ali, Deputy Director General Abdul Azeez Ismail and Imam of the Islamic Centre Sheikh Nasrullah Ali.
