Banks will be closed for a week during Eid holidays: MMA

The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has revealed that the banks will be closed for a week during the Eid-al-Adha holidays.

The authority revealed that MMA and banks will be closed during the government holidays from July 10–14. Banks are usually open on one of the long holidays, such as the Eid holidays.

The MMA said that with self-service ATMs, banking services have now become easier. Therefore, during holidays such as Eid, banks will be closed as MMA believes the public and businesses will not face much difficulty in accessing banking services.

The MMA said the announcement was made in advance to give the public time to plan their holidays and required banking services.
