President concludes official visit to two islands

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has concluded his two-day visit to Funadhoo in Shaviyani Atoll and Holhudhoo in Noonu Atoll and returned to Malé City. He was in Funadhoo to attend the golden jubilee celebrations of Funadhoo School and then travelled to Holhudhoo to attend the diamond jubilee festivities of Meyna School.

Speaking at a ceremony held to mark the golden jubilee of Funadhoo School, President Solih highlighted the significant contributions of the school to developing human resources. He then emphasised that many of the school’s alumni are valuable members of society, serving in leading roles on the island and in the region.

Meanwhile, speaking at the diamond jubilee anniversary event of Meyna School, President Solih applauded the school’s legacy of contributing to the nation’s education system by producing many productive citizens. He also unveiled a monument commemorating the 75th anniversary of the school.

During his visit, the president also met with the island council and women’s development committee (WDC) members of both islands and discussed the challenges and opportunities for further development. He also held discussions with members of the senior management teams of healthcare facilities in both atolls. He was accompanied by cabinet ministers and senior government officials on his visit.
