Velana International Airport (VIA) has recorded its highest ever single-day domestic traffic on July 7.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) revealed over 3,300 passengers travelled across 125 domestic flights on July 7. VIA stated this is a record number of domestic traffic for one day.
VIA is currently experiencing heavy traffic due to the increased flight operations following the start of school holidays. As a result, MACL has urged travellers to be at the airport three hours before scheduled departure time, in order to minimise delays due to large queues.
