Wizz Air to begin flight operations to the Maldives

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the ultra-low-fare national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has announced it is scheduled to begin flight operations to the Maldives on October 4.

Wizz Air stated it will launch two new routes from Abu Dhabi to the Maldives, and its fifth key destination in the Gulf, Kuwait. It stated that the new routes will offer travellers the opportunity to explore more destinations in line with its ambition to provide tourists and residents in the UAE and the region with convenient and affordable travel options. Tickets are on sale on its website and mobile app.

Wizz Air will offer flights four times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from Abu Dhabi to Velana International Airport (VIA) in the Maldives. Flights to Kuwait and the Maldives will be operated on a brand-new Airbus A321neo aircraft, which offers the lowest environmental footprint. The airline stated that the expansion of its flight operations reaffirms its long-term commitment to offering ultra-low fares to a variety of diverse destinations from Abu Dhabi.
