The Maldives has launched the Pandemic Preparedness and Response Plan 2022.
The Pandemic Preparedness and Response Plan 2022 was launched by the World Health Organisation (WHO) Representative to Maldives Dr. Nazneen Anwar. The main objective of the plan is to be prepared for any emergency situation.
At the ceremony held to launch the plan, Minister of Health Ahmed Naseem said the importance of having such a plan has become very apparent following the COVID-19 situation. The minister also said the institutions responsible for various emergency situations have been identified and things have been put in order in the plan. He added the administrative preparations and the work to be done in the practical field have also been included in the plan.
Meanwhile, WHO Representative Dr. Anwar said that such a plan takes into account the availability and accessibility of international assistance.
