State Trading Organisation (STO) has reduced the price of petrol and diesel sold in the Maldives.
STO stated that it has reduced the price of petrol from USD1.08 per litre to USD1.04 and reduced the price of diesel from USD1.09 per litre to USD1.06.
STO increased the price of petrol and diesel earlier this year due to fluctuations in global fuel prices due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, which resulted in global fuel prices rising to a seven-year high.
STO stated it is always working to improve its services and provide fuel at a reasonable price to the Maldives. The state-owned company has been working with the government to maintain fuel prices in the country despite the challenges.
