President observes BCC initiatives

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has visited and observed the initiatives of the Business Centre Corporation (BCC).

During his visit, President Solih observed the initiatives of BCC including SEED and the Authentic Maldives. He also met the staff and entrepreneurs utilising the facilities.

SEED by the BCC is exclusive to start-ups and freelancers and can house 40 people at a time. Co-workspaces are shared office spaces that are cheap enough to rent for young entrepreneurs and start-ups. In addition, Authentic Maldives is an initiative by BCC to promote the sale of local products. The purpose of Authentic Maldives is to provide a platform where small businesses could market and sell their local products. The outlet which was introduced with 57 businesses has now expanded to 180 businesses.

President Solih was accompanied by Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail and Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer.
