The Maldives Stock Exchange (MSE) has launched the Viyana e-platform for the Private Securities Segment.
The platform was launched by Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail accompanied by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Aushan Latheef and by Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA) Fathimath Kamaludeen at a special ceremony held by MSE.
Speaking at the ceremony, Aushan described the Viyana e-platform as a revolutionary change in the capital market. He also noted that the e-platform will open up finance and investment opportunities for businesses.
CMDA and MSE have established a private placement system to expand the securities market in the Maldives. Under the system, private companies will have the opportunity to raise money by issuing securities without transferring their responsibilities to a public company.
Viyana is an e-platform established by MSE to conduct transactions in the private securities market using advanced technology. In addition, Viyana is a private securities system that allows registered investors to invest in the market under a special rule. Furthermore, MSE believes that Viyana will open the door to the securities market in the Maldives.
