The Ministry of Health has signed agreements with contractors to complete some works of the health centres in Bandidhoo in Dhaalu Atoll and Raiymandhoo in Meemu Atoll.
The construction of a portico and boundary wall of Bandidhoo health centre was contracted to Go Travel Private Limited. The company is tasked with completing the project within 122 days at a cost of USD84,000.
Furthermore, the construction of a portico and garage of Raiymandhoo health centre was contracted to Samaalu Construction at a cost of USD58,000. The project must be completed within 140 days.
The government aims to improve the quality of health centres and expand services in the atolls, which includes constructing extension buildings to increase the space and development of health centres in large populated islands to the hospital levels. The main purpose of the objective is to complete the health care system for common health diseases in the islands and expand specialist services.
