Construction of Kurendhoo mosque begins

Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir has inaugurated the construction of a mosque in Kurendhoo, Lhaviyani Atoll.

At a special ceremony, Islamic Minister Zahir inaugurated the project with Parliamentarian Abdul Ghanee Abdul Hakeem and President of Kurendhoo Island Council Ismail Majeeh, with the council members in attendance.

Mims Construction Private Limited is tasked with completing the construction of the mosque within one year at a cost of USD924,000. The mosque will be built with a capacity to accommodate 700 worshippers and adorned with modern Islamic interior and exterior decorations.

In addition, Minister Zahir held a meeting with Kurendhoo Island Council during his visit to the island.
