The Parliament of the Maldives has begun efforts to approve the proposed State Budget 2023 on November 30.
Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer has submitted the proposed State Budget for 2023 to the Parliament of the Maldives. The government proposed USD2.76 billion as the state budget for 2023. Following the proposal of the state budget, Speaker Mohamed Nasheed shared how the Parliament will proceed leading to the approval of the proposed budget. He revealed the economic situation of the country, debt, and financial situation of the country will be considered during the review process.
The budget will be reviewed by a joint committee formed by combining the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Affairs and the Parliamentary Committee on Finance.
